Have you ever made the news? Have you ever done anything in your life that was newsworthy? I’m not asking you to tell me what it was because I know that some of you may have done something great to make the news. You invented something or you stopped a crime or you did something praiseworthy and you deserve to be on the news. But some of you may have made the news for the opposite reason. Maybe your mugshot got taken and you did a little time somewhere besides your own home. That is news too.
King David was all over the news back in his day. Pretty often there was news about him winning a battle or leading his troops to great victory and he deserved to be in the news for that. God blessed him with many victories for Israel. But then…there was that ONE time…when kings go off to war…but David didn’t go to war. Ugh! You know the story. I hate to preach on it but it’s a perfect example of what not to do when tempted by lust. David struggled with it and maybe you do too. Maybe it is for the opposite sex or maybe it is for stuff or position or what you think would be better than what you have.
