Nearly two years ago Christ Fellowship left the event center in Chico and started worshiping at the R2BA Auction house. We have been so blessed and we are so grateful to the Cantrell family for allowing us to meet there all this time. But as soon as we left the event center we started praying that God would provide for us our own place where we could worship. We have prayed and prayed that God would open the doors He wanted us to go through and to close the doors that were not His will. And while it has sometimes seemed as if God was not going to provide or that He was done with Christ Fellowship, we see now the wonderful provision of a new building in Bridgeport.
A lot of work has gone into getting the new building into shape and more needs to be done but this Sunday, July 19th, will be our first official Sunday at 1032 CR 3214 in Bridgeport. It has been repainted inside and out and decorated with the goal of making a comfortable and inviting spot to invite friends, neighbors and family to worship Jehovah Jireh, the Lord Who Provides! We are not a new church. We just have a new building. And our focus on leading people to have a life-changing relationship with Jesus has not changed. But we are in a new neighborhood and some parts of our mission and ministry may change. We will let God continue to guide us in those directions.
If you would like to help put some finishing touches on the building we are going to meet for one last workday today, Saturday the 18th, to clean and move lots of stuff into a storage container that should be on the property later today. There is still a lot of work to be done and any help you can give will be much appreciated. Also, we have been out a lot of expense in this process. We have tried to do all the work ourselves but there is a lot that goes into making this work and none of it is cheap. If you would like to store up treasures in Heaven by adding to your tithes and gifts this week, that would be extremely helpful. Rent, utilities and insurance all have to be paid plus all the supplies. You can mail a check to PO Box 645 in Chico if you want. I hate talking about money but it is a necessary tool to do what God has called us to do in this new place.
Sunday is going to be an amazing day of worship and I can’t wait to see you! If you haven’t been to church in a while, this would be a perfect time to start again. I love and appreciate you all! — Todd
