Big day!

This Sunday, November 1st, will be a big day at Christ Fellowship! First, don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour before you go to sleep since Daylight Saving Time ends. Then Sunday morning we will start a new sermon series (I know. Finally! Right?) All through November we will look at characters in the Bible who were thankful. No, it’s not terribly original but, as I hope we will see, being thankful increases our joy and increases our closeness with God. And that’s a big part of what it’s all about. We will start with the tenth leper as told in Luke chapter 17. And for those who like to read ahead, I want to ask you a two-pronged question: why did Jesus heal these men and why did they have leprosy in the first place? Let’s talk about it this Sunday morning.

Then, Sunday evening we will finally have our big Operation Christmas Child packing party. We have tons of stuff gathered and close to 300 boxes ready to be packed. It’s hard to tell but if anything it looks like we may need more boxes. If you are at Walmart or the dollar store this weekend you might pick up some plastic shoeboxes. At Walmart they are about $12 for 10 boxes and they make a great gift in themselves. If you don’t want to do any shopping, we will also need to pay for the shipping which is $10 a box. You can give that Sunday night if you want. Also, it wouldn’t be a party without food and drinks. That means party food like pigs n blankets and sweet tea. Not veggie trays and stuff like that. No, seriously, if you want fruits and veggies – if that’s your idea of a party – then okay fine. But I’m bringing pigs n blankets so save room. The party starts at 6 pm. I can’t wait to see y’all there! I love you all! — Todd
