Think about a time in your life when God answered your prayer. Think about how you prayed. You prayed fervently (James 5:16). You prayed in the Spirit, meaning you had no unforgiven sin and were led by God how to pray (Eph. 6:18). You prayed thankfully (Phil. 4:6). You prayed in faith (Heb. 11:6). And God heard your cry and answered your prayer. Praise the Lord for that!
Now, think of a time when you prayed and God did not answer that prayer. He didn’t just say, “No” or “Wait” but it felt like He didn’t answer at all. You prayed the same way. You prayed fervently and in the Spirit and with thankful faith and yet…nothing. Ever been there? Sure, you have. Where is God when that happens? What are you to make of faith when that happens? Can you praise God even then? Those are hard questions but they need to be answered because at some point, we will all go through it.
Join me at Christ Fellowship this Sunday as we wrap up our study of the Old Testament saints and heroes with a look at Hebrews 11, the faith chapter of the Bible and hopefully, between the morning and evening services, we can answer some of those questions the best that we can.
I love you all and can’t wait to see you at 10 and 6! — Todd
