The title in my Bible over the passage we are going to look at this Sunday in Genesis 32 says, “Jacob Wrestles With God”
I haven’t watched professional wrestling since I was a kid, but this story is nothing like anything you’d see on TV. If you finish reading Genesis 32 and find yourself thinking, “What in the world just happened?” you’re in good company. This Sunday at Christ Fellowship, you may still leave with some unanswered questions about the passage. But my hope is that you’ll gain a clearer sense of what it truly means to have an encounter with God. What does He do and what should we do? Do we wrestle with God? Do we have to beg Him for blessings like Jacob did? And what is it that God wants to change in us? Let’s talk about all that and more.
